It's a love poem sent in 1906 You may use the text & the card as you want to : since they are more than 70 years old they are in the public domain, but please send me a link so I can see it and fav it. Quand le liere s'unit à l'arbre dont la hache Ne peut le separer sans le faire périr Il semble dire à ceux que l'amour doit unir La devise des coeurs : Je moeurs ou je m'attache Gaston. This is an aproxiamtive translation, really not as good in english as in french, but it ll give you the major part of the meaning : When the ivy bonds with the tree From whom the axe can't separate it without it perishing It seems to say to those united by love The motto of the heart: I die or I chain My usual account : |
